Our heritage

Bioquell is now the leading global supplier of bio-decontamination systems, led by advances developed in hydrogen peroxide vapor technology (HPV) over the last decade.

Built on a heritage of 'decontamination' technology, the original organization was formed over 250 years ago, supplying plumbing and sanitation services to the public and private sector. This led to developments in flushing toilets/cisterns (including many installed at Royal residences and leading hospitals). As time progressed, work began to focus on developing advanced filtration products, leading to a range of fume cupboards and more recently laminar flow microbiological safety cabinets under the Astec and Microflow brand names. This filtration technology has also been employed in the defense sector providing chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear (CBRN) protection for armoured vehicles, ships and aircraft.

Today, alongside the advanced CBRN protection, HPV bio-decontamination has been extensively developed. There is significant support to the efficacy of this unique Bioquell technology provided through numerous published peer-reviewed scientific papers. Bioquell is the clear market leader in the development  and application of HPV technology, leading to many opportunities for deployment in the life science, healthcare, defense and food sectors.
