Fresh Air Filtration System

Fresh Air Filtration System

Ongoing operations in Afganistan and Iraq have highlighted the difficulties associated with the ingress of fine dust particles into military vehicles, particularly the damage this dust can cause to mission critical military equipment. Bioquell has over 40 years experience in the design, development, and manufacture of filtration equipment and has drawn upon this wealth of technology to develop an affordable and reliable low life cycle cost Fresh Air Filtration System.

The Fresh Air Filtration System is designed as an adaptable system that can be engineered to suit varying space envelopes and airflow requirements. The system is designed to be mounted within an enclosure which Bioquell can advise on as required. Fresh air is drawn through the enclosure into the filtration unit where dust particulate is drawn off and ejected through the enclosure wall to atmosphere.  The filtered air is then drawn through the unit into the enclosure, before being fed into the vehicle crew compartment.

Where possible, the system utilizes COTS items throughout the design. This ensures a low maintenance system with low initial costs, and a high level of system reliability, resulting in minimal logistic support and low through life costs. With an airflow rate of up to 170m3/hr (100 cfm) ± 10%, the unit provides up to 98% efficiency and, with the addition of a post filter, the filtration performance
of the unit can be further enhanced up to 99.5%. The unit has also been pre-qualified to the relevant EMC, shock and vibration MIL-STDs.
