Sensitive Equipment and Interior Decontamination

Sensitive Equipment and Interior Decontamination

Bioquell’s hydrogen peroxide vapor (HPV) technology is used to eradicate biological and chemical warfare agents from key assets, including sensitive equipment and the interior of critical facilities. Bioquell has developed a range of HPV systems for the bio-decontamination of enclosed spaces or equipment in various sectors including defense applications. This can include sensitive equipment and electronics such as night vision goggles, laptop computers, electronics, sensitive weapons systems, avionics and optics.

Bioquell’s HPV technology has been incorporated into the United States Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Service Sensitive Equipment Decontamination Program (JSSED).

Features

  • Utilizes hydrogen peroxide to provide an environmentally friendly process compatible with sensitive equipment
  • Can be used to decontaminate sensitive equipment and electronics
  • JSSED is a flexible modular system using robust transport cases
  • JSSED can be configured into two different modes:
    - RSE mode to decontaminate small sensitive equipment, e.g. laptops
    - NRSE mode to decontaminate larger enclosures, e.g. ISO containers

Technical

  • HPV is effective for the rapid eradication of surface microbial contamination including Bacillus anthracis
  • HPV is rapidly converted to water vapor and oxygen by the use of a catalyst
  • Decontamination of CWAs by combining hydrogen peroxide with an activator such as ammonia
  • Formal, independent materials compatibility testing has demonstrated good materials compatibility characteristics
